Actual Production History (APH) Yield Exclusion Program

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack has announced the implementation of a new Farm Bill initiative that will provide relief to farmers affected by severe weather, including drought. The Actual Production History (APH) Yield Exclusion, available nationwide for farmers of select crops starting next spring, allows eligible producers who have been hit with severe weather to receive a higher approved yield on their insurance policies through the federal crop insurance program. Assistant Professor of Agronomy Position, Univ. of Central Missouri

The University of Central Missouri has initiated a search to hire an Assistant professor of Agronomy. This position is a full-time, tenure-track position. Teaching responsibilities include, but are not limited to, courses in soil fertility management, field crop management, pasture forages management, and agriculture sprays and chemicals. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will be expected to develop a research program as well as advise agronomy students, supervise internships, serve on university committees, and participate in curriculum revision as needed. Submit Memories for SFA’s 25th Anniversary

Next year is a big one for SFA – 2015 marks 25 years since our formation – and we need your help. As SFA begins a yearlong series of special events and publications revolving around our Silver Anniversary, we are seeking submissions for a special edition of the yearly CornerPost magazine – SFA-related memories, stories, photos, videos, documents. This can be anything you have to share that can help tell SFA’s story, whether it happened 25 years or 25 days ago.  Submit materials by October 31, 2014.
