Minnesota’s Agricultural Water Quality Certification Program

Farmers across Minnesota are now taking advantage of a state program that celebrates and ensures protection of the state’s water resources. With the help of a five-year, $9 million award from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and legislation enacted earlier this year, the Minnesota Agricultural Water Quality Certification Program (MAWQCP) is formally transitioning from four pilot areas to being available to any agricultural producer statewide. Volunteers Needed for Minneapolis Farmers Market Produce Rescue

The Food Group (formerly Emergency Foodshelf Network) is partnering with the Minneapolis Farmer’s Market to collect surplus produce from farmers, vendors, and customers and distribute the donated food to food shelves and meal programs in the Twin Cities metro area. Produce Rescue volunteers are needed each Sunday, from 12:00pm to 2:30, throughout the Minneapolis Farmer’s Market season.
