This is a message from the MISA Board of Directors Nominations Committee. We seek your help in identifying individuals potentially willing to serve on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Institute for Sustainable Agriculture (MISA.)  The purpose of MISA is to bring together the diverse interests of the agricultural community with interests from across the University community in a cooperative effort to develop and promote sustainable agriculture in Minnesota and beyond. Tractor Rollover Protection Structure (ROPS) Rebates Available

Minnesota farmers and schools are now eligible for tractor Rollover Protection Structure (ROPS) rebates, as the Minnesota Department of Agriculture kicked off its ROPS Rebate Program in July. The program reimburses farmers and schools at least 70 percent of the cost of purchasing, shipping, and installing a rollover protection kit – a roll bar and safety belt – limiting an applicant’s cost per tractor to no more than $500. MN Value Added Grant Program

The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) anticipates awarding up to $1 million through the competitive Value Added Grant Program. Funding for the grants was established through the Agricultural Growth, Research and Innovation (AGRI) Program to advance Minnesota’s agricultural and renewable energy industries. Healthy Eating Research Grants

Healthy Eating Research: Building Evidence to Prevent Childhood Obesity is a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) national program. The program supports research on environmental and policy strategies with strong potential to promote healthy eating among children to prevent childhood obesity, especially among groups at highest risk for obesity: black, Latino, American Indian, Asian/Pacific Islander, and children who live in lower-income communities (urban, suburban, and/or rural).
