Manure & Organic Vegetables Study

Scientists at the University of California are seeking organic vegetable producers in several states to participate in a food safety study. The study’s goal is to provide organic farmers with “science-based strategies that effectively limit food-safety risks when using raw manure-based soil amendments.” In return for participating in this two-year study, growers receive free test results for their farm, feedback to help minimize contamination of fresh produce, and a $700 stipend.
