Program Administrator Position with MN Agricultural Water Quality Certification Program

This position exists to coordinate conservation and agronomic planning and implementation within Minnesota Agricultural Certification Program (MAWQCP).  The incumbent will be responsible for assuring the certification assessment process is consistent with a high level of accredited conservation planning and maintaining a national standard.  The position will also be responsible for quality assurance of certification services rendered by private sector entities. Job Summary

Working with the MAWQCP Program Manager and staff, public and private sector contracted partners, this position is in charge of coordinating and implementing strategies nationally, for incorporating rigorous agronomic analysis and water quality conservation science within MAWQCP.  This position works closely with federal, state and local government, private and nonprofit entities and leads certification and audit staff employed by private industry in coordination with the United States Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources and Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.



Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelors degree in Agricultural or Environmental Science, Public Administration, Management or a related field.

Four (4) years of professional experience in project management or coordination working with agricultural issues and producers as well as private sector partners.

Knowledge of agricultural production and resource conservation practices and management in Minnesota.

Knowledge of agricultural conservation programs and government agencies.

Excellent organizational, project management, oral and written communication and analytical skills.

Ability to travel and work remotely within Minnesota.

Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle record subject to review.


Preferred Qualifications

Current or previous Certified Conservation Planner Status from USDA/NRCS.

Experience in program outreach to agricultural producers, including recruitment and enrollment in conservation programs, contracts, easements, or other Best Management Practices.

Experience coordinating with private sector Technical Service Providers (TSP) including technical and quality assurance review of work from TSPs.

Experience working with agricultural producers and public agencies in Minnesota.

Experience working in an agricultural operation or an agriculture-related service provider.

Experience with or knowledge of federal conservation programs as well as state conservation, agricultural and environmental issues.
